It attracts its fans with its rules, chances to win and the fact that it is the player who decides exactly what to do and how to play his cards and luck. The history and the origins of blackjack are not clear but it is considered that the game originates from a game which appeared during the 17th century in French casinos and was called “Vingt-et-un” which means “Twenty-one” in French. Another theory about the origin of blackjack leads to the Spain where a similar game was played and was called “Veintiuna” in Spanish which also means “Twenty-one”. The moment when blackjack was brought to North America, it became hugely popular and even after it was prohibited during the 19th century, it was still growing more and more popular. In 1931, gambling was legalized in Las Vegas, Nevada and this place quickly became the most popular gambling place in the world and blackjack – one of the most popular gambling games.

As we mentioned above, blackjack is a game which is played with several decks of cards – usually four or six. Most of the casinos use 6 decks in order to be harder for players to count cards. The goal in blackjack is to have 21 or to be as close to 21 as possible without exceeding it which is called “busting”. However, not busting is not enough to win – you need to be closer to 21 than the dealer without busting. There are various decisions that the players need to take during the game – as to whether to use insurance, even money, split cards, double their bet and most importantly, they need to decide when to hit (draw one more card) or stand, in order to get 21 or as close as possible to it without busting. If you decide to hit, and you go over 21, then you lose.
